Eek! I cannot believe how quickly things are moving. I feel as if Nicolas and I just got engaged. This past Sunday was our engagement party, and the best part is that Nicolas’s family was here to celebrate (and will be here for the rest of the week!!!) Our families met for the very first time, and it has been so wonderful.
Our engagement party was intimate and cozy. The menu consisted of hors d’oeuvres from our favorite Italian restaurant, punch and cookies made by my aunts, and the most delicious pies made by my incredibly talented sister. All of us girls decorated for the party with a few things my mom and I picked up at Hallmark and TJ Maxx. There were little touches of Paris and Denmark, which I loved so much! It was perfect.
Above are two of my favorite photos from the day. It is still surreal to see my and Nicolas’s parents together! I also love this photo of us with my amazing grandma who has been the biggest supporter of our relationship from day one. 🙂
Nicolas and I want to thank both of our families for such a wonderful party. I am so happy everyone got a chance to meet! I am sure there will be plenty more wedding posts to come. I still can’t believe I am planning a wedding. I hope you all have a great rest of the week! xx

Such a wonderful engagement party!! I am so excited for you and Nicolas. I will pray for you two, that your planning process will be fun instead of stressful and your marriage will be blessed! I am sure it will be. Long distance (speaking from an 8 hours distance which is not as far as you had obviously) sets up excellent communication skills and that has served me and my husband well for the past (almost 8) years of marriage and 12 years together.
How grand to have the whole family together to celebrate! You look very happy , Madison. Your party looks perfect. Wishing you much happiness as you plan your wedding. ♥
Congratulations. How wonderful to celebrate with both families there. The little touches were a delight, have fun planning your special day.
I am so happy for you!!! I can’t wait to hear more details about your wedding planning (hoping you will share, smiles).
