HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I cannot believe it is 2022. 2021 flew right by (which is maybe why I only shared ONE blog post.) Oops! I wanted to share a few shots from our cozy New Year’s Eve as well as my outfit and makeup details. Nicolas and I celebrated our seventh New Year’s Eve together, and for the first time ever, it was just the two of us. We stayed in, cooked a delicious meal together, played games, listened to Frank Sinatra, watched the Queen of Denmark’s speech, and saw the ball drop. It was perfect. ๐
An Aperol Spritz is my favorite drink to sip on during the summer months. Last night, Nicolas made a Winter Aperol Spritz with cranberry juice and fresh rosemary. It was SO delicious. You can find the recipe here. ๐
Now let’s talk about my outfit and makeup because I think it was perfect for a festive night in.
Details:
My outfit was super simple and comfortable! I found this New Year’s crown with a black feather at Hobby Lobby and knew exactly what I was going to wear. ๐ I’ve had these party pajamas with feathers for a couple of years now and love how versatile they are! I like to wear both pieces separately and together. I paired the set with a black bra top from Victoria’s Secret. You can find a similar one here. To complete the look, I threw on my favorite black Calvin Klein heels. (The heels were for picture purposes only. I put my comfy slippers on for the rest of the night. ๐ )
I’m not sure if you can tell or not, but my makeup was actually super simple as well. ๐ I started with a little concealer under my eyes and around my nose and followed up with this mineral face powder. For my cheeks, I applied some cream bronzer and my favorite cream blush and blended the products in with my fingers. Next up was brows. I am quite minimalistic when it comes to my brows these days. I used a little bit of brow powder to fill in any gaps and set them with a tinted brow gel. The eyes were SO easy and so fun. I mixed a creamy gold shade and a light pink shade from my new favorite palette and applied the shadow all over the eyelids with my finger. (I tapped any leftover shadow onto the tops of my cheekbones for some extra glow!) To finish the eyes, I used this black eyeliner and this mascara. I always do my lips last. I used a lip liner in a neutral shade around and all over my lips and topped it off with this lip gloss in the shade Dream On which was perfect for NYE because it has gold metallic sparkles in it.
