I Opened My Own Bridal Boutique // Life Update

I promise that someday soon I will get back to posting about muffin recipes and my favorite lipsticks …

I opened my own bridal boutique! After much thought and consideration, Nicolas and I have decided to take a chance and put down roots in the little town we call home. 🙂 It has always been a dream of mine to start my own business. When I was younger, I wanted to open a Dairy Queen. Later on, I launched my own makeup artistry business as well as this blog. However, after I started working at a bridal and formal wear store, I knew it was the right line of work for me.

When an opportunity was brought up to me this past fall, I first pushed it aside thinking, “I can’t do that!” I was scared and uncertain about what the future would hold. But the thought never left my mind. I revisited the idea after Christmas and began to seriously consider it. I was still afraid, but I was also excited about the chance to do something big. It became even more real when I realized how supportive Nicolas was of the idea. He loved his job and our life here, so it made sense for me to also establish myself more and try something new. My dad helped me so incredibly much, being that he owns his own business.

There was plenty of paperwork and decision making. Once that was all done, there was the physical job of renovating, cleaning, and setting up my storefront. Immediately after Nicolas and I got back from our honeymoon, we got straight to work. My family and friends helped out, and within three weeks, the entire project was done!

Let me introduce you to Madison Marie Bridal. 🙂

My whole family was there on opening day. Nicolas and my brother ran the cash register, my mom and sisters assisted me with customers, and my dad greeted everyone that came into the store!

Something I am so excited about is the opportunity to have the Unique Vintage line in my store. If you keep up with my fashion posts, you know that this brand has been my favorite for quite some time. It is a dream come true to be able to share it with all of my customers!

My little boutique is right downtown. Everyone in the community has been so supportive and welcoming! I’ve received flowers from family members and local businesses, and I was also on the front page of the Sunday paper this past weekend.

Along with wedding dresses, I am also offering mother of the bride/ groom, bridesmaid, prom, cocktail, and day dresses along with shoes and accessories. A full-service makeup counter is coming soon (because how could I open a store without makeup? 🙂 )

I feel so grateful and blessed. Words cannot describe how thrilled I am to be able to do what I love in a place so warm and welcoming. There is something special about small towns. If you’re interested in seeing more about Madison Marie Bridal, you can follow along on Instagram and Facebook. There is also a website coming soon!

Congratulations Madison! It is scary but also exciting! My husband and I bought the business he worked for 15 years ago and have never regretted it. Ours is metal fabrication so yours definitely looks like more fun!
