I am so excited! Today begins the 12 Days of Christmas here on Breakfast at Madison’s! I know the 12 Days of Christmas typically begin on December 25th, but I thought it would be fun to have a countdown and share a Christmas-themed post every day for 12 days. My amazing mom decided to do this with me, so be sure to follow along and see how my family is preparing for Christmas back home in Pennsylvania here! As for me, I plan on sharing a few recipes, some holiday beauty favorites, Christmas home decor, and of course how I am celebrating Christmas here in Denmark!
For my very first post, I thought it would be appropriate to share all of my Advent calendars with you! The first one isn’t actually an Advent calendar. It’s a 12 Days of Christmas candle collection by Yankee Candle! My mom gave this to me, and I LOVE it. She always burns Yankee Candles, especially during this time of year, so it is like having a little piece of home here with me. I am looking forward to trying out a new candle every day, and I thought it would be fun to share which candle I receive in each blog post. Today’s candle was Christmas Thyme. It’s a mixture of thyme, orange, and lemongrass. To me, it kind of smells like a Christmas tree. I’m not complaining! 🙂
Okay, now onto my actual Advent calendars. Nicolas’s family gifted this to me for my birthday, and it is one of the most thoughtful presents I have ever received! This is a calendar by Fredsted, an organic Danish tea company.
Behind each door are two bags of tea which I love because I can share with Nicolas (or save the extra bag for another time if I really love it. 😉 ) This is the PERFECT gift because I have gotten to try so many new flavors of tea, and it is something I look forward to every single day.
Today’s tea is Nighty Night! (Seriously, this brand makes the cutest tea.) It is blend of valerian, fennel, and peppermint. I can’t wait to have a cup after dinner tonight!
And last but not least are my candy calendars! This one from Hotel Chocolat is so adorable! Growing up, I always had a chocolate Advent calendar, and I like to carry on that tradition. Not to mention that Hotel Chocolat’s milk chocolate is truly amazing. 🙂 Nicolas’s mom also got us a Haribo  calendar filled with all different types of gummy bears and other candies – so fun!
I’d love to hear if you have an Advent calendar in the comments below! Also, if you are participating in the 12 Days of Christmas or Blogmas, please let me know! 🙂 Check back tomorrow for another Christmas post. Happy Wednesday!

{{hopping over from your moms}} Do you know, we have always had Advent calender’s, and this year, do you know, I have waited to long and now I can’t find them, sigh.
Looking forward to your 12 days, Madison. smiles
Oh no! That is so sad! I hope you find one next year. <3
This is such a fun and fabulous idea, Madison! I, too, love Advent calenders and oh, your tea one is simply delightful!
Have a wonderful day! Hugs! Stephanie-The Enchanting Rose
Thanks so much, Stephanie! I love the name of your blog. <3
Visiting from your mom’s blog. Love the idea of the tea advent calendar. Enjoy your Christmas in Denmark (lucky you 🙂 ).
Hope you enjoy your holiday season, Theresa! 🙂
I’ve never had an Advent Calendar. Every year I say I’m going to get one and never do. Next year!
Candle ones are so neat I will need to get myself one of these since I love candles.

Next year I would highly recommend this candle calendar to you! Also, I burned the first candle all day yesterday, and it is not even halfway gone! You’ll have plenty of candles to burn. 🙂
Love the post, Madison!
And thank you for inviting me to join you!
Your photos are beautiful.
Your tea looks lovely.
And I love knowing that you and I are burning the same candle every single day. : )
You and your mom are the best! I love your advent calendars! Each of my kids has a chocolate one this year but not nearly the good chocolate that is in yours I am sure.
Hi, Madeline! Thanks so much for reading. When I was little, the chocolate in my Advent calendar was so special. It was my favorite!
I have a HUGE Kinder advent calendar and one free paper one only, but I flipping love them! I would love to get a beauty one, but I’m way too picky about those. Lumene advent calendar would have been lovely, but it was sold out everywhere. Candle one would be nice too! Maybe next year, I get all three.

I wanted to get a beauty one this year, but worried about the overload of products I would have afterwards! Haha I highly recommend the candle one. 🙂
I’m coming over from your mom’s blog post. How lovely that you and she are sharing these special times together. Such sweet advent calendars and especially the tea one. I don’t use an advent calendar, but always find a special one for my grands. ♥
Awe, thanks so much for stopping by! <3
OH! this is such a great and fun idea, I have had advent calendars in the past, but got so busy this season that I forgot to get one, now I am wishing I had made more of an effort.
Yours are so perfect, especially the tea calendar, and the candles I love too! Thanks for sharing, I am looking forward to your posts.
Blessings,
Sue
Hi, Sue!!! Thanks so much for reading 🙂 I hope you enjoy all the Christmas posts!
This is such a great post and I’ve gotten plenty of ideas for advent calendars next year! I’ve never really had an advent calendar and never really understood them, but this post makes them look like so much fun! I’d love to have the tea one — perfect for the holidays and trying out new teas. My boyfriend also loves Haribo — so that’s on the list for next year!
Cheers! xx
