Our Danish Wedding Celebration + More // Denmark 2019

Nicolas and I recently got back from Denmark, and it was such a nice trip. Unfortunately, many of Nicolas’s family members couldn’t make it to our wedding in the states so we celebrated our marriage with a small gathering at Nicolas’s parent’s house. It was great to see our friends and family again and spend a cozy evening together!

Nicolas put a slideshow of our wedding photos on so everyone could share in our special day …

It was so great to have all of our friends together! These girls are amazing. It was almost as if no time had passed.

Nicolas and I also visited a church in Denmark and met with a priest to have our marriage blessed in his religion. It was very special and intimate – just the two of us and the priest. 🙂

Another fun event was Nicolas’s sister’s confirmation. I was quite excited to attend a confirmation in Denmark. Julia is the most amazing sister/ sister-in-law to Nicolas and me and deserved so much to be celebrated! I helped her get ready for her big day, and she looked stunning (as always.)

We visited Bakken – the cutest little amusement park and one of our favorite places in Denmark. I wrote about Bakken in one of my earliest blog posts here. 🙂

Many of our afternoons were spent walking around our old neighborhood and visiting our favorite spots. We ate plenty of smørrebrød because you simply can’t get it in the states and also had our fair share of Danish ice cream. 🙂

I was so happy to be able to spend an afternoon with my lovely friend Helen. She took me to two of her favorite cafes (one for lunch and one for dessert 😉 ) and also showed me a bridal store in the city to get some inspiration for my own boutique! I am so grateful for Helen because our friendship is one in a million. Even though we don’t see each other as much as we’d like, we always pick up right where we left off. 🙂

It was bittersweet saying goodbye to this beautiful view. Copenhagen will always hold a special place in my heart!

I missed blogging so much and am happy that I had time to finally sit down and write a post. Life is starting to slow down a bit, and I look forward to blogging more! I hope you all have been well.

xx, Madison

Looks like a wonderful trip to what is a very special place for you. So nice that family and friends were able to share and celebrate your wedding. Nice to explore and find inspiration for your own place of work, I am sure some of your ideas will be a great asset.

How wonderful you were able to spend some time in Denmark celebrating all the happy occasions. And how wonderful you could see so many people you love while you were there! I look forward to hearing more about your shop and your life when you’re all settled back in.
