On February 9th, 2019, I married the love of my life. It went something like this …
The entire weekend took place at this beautiful mansion on Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh!
I got ready in my pajamas surrounded by the most amazing group of girls. ๐
I love this photo of my grandma watching my mom help me into my wedding gown … Three generations.
Nicolas had the help of his dad and groomsmen while getting ready …
and we shared our first look on the grand staircase.
Nicolas wore his great-great-grandfather’s top hat, and I wore his great-great-grandmother’s lace gloves as my “something borrowed.” It was such a special way to commemorate his family and wear pieces that his great-great-grandparents wore on their wedding day many years ago.
We took lots of photos before heading to the ceremony …
Nicolas and I got married at Saint Paul Cathedral. It was like a dream.
We all headed back to the mansion for the reception …
Our best friends and family members gave the loveliest speeches …
and Nicolas’s sister put a video together of well-wishes from our family members and friends in Denmark that couldn’t be there.
We cut our delicious wedding cake (and got a bit messy. ๐ ) My grandma actually found this cake topper and bought it for me only a few months after Nicolas and I started dating. She said it reminded her of us. I tucked it away and saved it for this special day (because when you know, you know. ๐ ) My friend repainted it, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
The rest of the reception was just so fun! I don’t think I ever stopped smiling.
A moment I’ll remember forever is dancing with my grandma to her favorite song!
It truly was the best day ever. Nicolas and I are so thankful to have so many amazing people in our lives that made that day so incredibly special. Nicolas, I love you so much. Thank you for making all my dreams come true. <3

Madison, when I viewed wedding pictures on your mom’s blog yesterday I sat with tears in my eyes and it has happened again as I viewed your post today. You were a gorgeous bride…so elegant!
