Flattering Florals // Summer OOTD

top // By a Thread Boutique

skirt // Uniqlo (linked similar)

shoes // Old Navy (on sale!)

earrings // By a Thread Boutique (currently sold out but similar styles available!)

sunnies // Elie Tahari

I love fall, but I am not ready to give up my summer florals quite yet! You probably recognize a couple of pieces in today’s outfit from previous Summer OOTD posts. (See how I styled this skirt here and the red flats here.) I LOVE maximizing my wardrobe and styling the same key pieces over and over again. As much as I adore clothes, I have to admit that I don’t need hundreds of items in my closet. The top and earrings are actually brand new. My friend Emily has the cutest online boutique and is currently offering mystery bags! My sister and I are the same size and decided to get a bag to share. We were so pleased with Emily’s picks, and it was a lot of fun pulling each piece out of the package.

Style tip: This top is very flowy and so is the skirt. To balance out the outfit, I tied a little belt around my waist from another dress that I own. As a rule of thumb, try to style a flowy top with a more straight and structured bottom (like a pencil skirt or skinny jeans) so your shape is not lost! If that isn’t possible, add a belt. Highlighting the smallest part of your body is typically a universally-flattering look.

It’s almost the weekend! What was your favorite thing that you wore this week? Let me know in the comments below.

xx, Madison

I totally relate! I love fall and I’m so excited for it to arrive however, I’m still not ready to give up my all my floral and colorful summer time outfits. I’m going to have to take advantage of all the warm weather we’re about to experience in the meantime.
