Before heading to the states, Nicolas and I went out for a lovely Sunday brunch. It is no secret that brunch is my favorite thing in the world. (I’m pretty sure I mention it in every other blog post!) We had heard a lot of good things about Mad og Kaffe (translated to food and coffee 🙂 ) and decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert: It was AMAZING.
Mad og Kaffe has two locations in Copenhagen, and we decided to go to the one on Amagerbro. I highly suggest arriving a bit earlier than you would prefer to eat because the restaurant was completely full when we arrived. We waited around thirty minutes for a table, but it was worth it! I ordered a cup of coffee (which was delicious!!!) and started to plan my meal.
Mad og Kaffe’s menu is simple and makes it really easy to build your ideal breakfast. It was a dream come true! Nicolas and I both opted for the five item plate, where we each chose five individual dishes. My absolute favorite was this oatmeal with caramelized apples, almonds, and berries. Mmm! Best oatmeal ever.
I also ordered smoked salmon with smoked cheese mayo, tomato salad, organic cheese with homemade jam, and apple compote with almonds and whipped cream! Absolutely everything was delicious. Each bite was better than the next. I also enjoyed that the dishes were well-portioned (not too big), making it easy to eat everything on the plate!
Nicolas really enjoyed his bacon, scrambled eggs with chives and mushrooms, the smoked salmon, and of course a kanelsnegl (cinnamon roll.) 🙂
The atmosphere was incredibly hyggelig with lots of candles and comfortable seating. I had the best view. 😉
I think it is safe to say that this is my favorite breakfast/ brunch spot in Copenhagen, and we will definitely be returning (hopefully as soon as I am back in Denmark! Hehe) I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday! Have a lovely week. 🙂

Hi Madison, I have been following your blog since you started it, you and your Nicholas make such a beautiful couple, maybe one day if you feel free to share your love story, how you all met? I think that would make a great blog post since we your readers enjoy reading about the two of you.
