I’m so excited!!! + Easy Dessert Recipe

Hellooo! Today’s post has a theme, and that theme is . . .

Paris

because I am going to PARIS. As you can tell by the title, I am incredibly excited. This all came about a couple of weeks ago. Nicolas had just left to go back to Denmark, and I was so sad. Not to mention that it was our three year anniversary (that was poor planning oops.) Anyway, my brother handed me a card, and on the inside was the loveliest little note written by Nicolas. He signed off by writing “Paris is always a good idea …” We were on FaceTime, and he prompted me to go check behind the Paris sign (in the photo above) in my bedroom. To my surprise, there were two tickets to Paris tucked sneakily behind it. Of course I immediately began crying! I have dreamed of going to Paris my entire life, and I still can’t believe that I am actually going in a little less than a month! Life is crazy. I have spent the past week planning my outfits and OF COURSE our day in DISNEYLAND. I have visited Disney World (my favorite place in the world) several times but have never been to another Disney resort before. To be honest, I am not sure if I am more excited to see the Eiffel Tower or Sleeping Beauty’s castle, but don’t tell Nicolas that. πŸ˜‰

For the remainder of today’s post I wanted to share a recipe I recently tried that was super yummy and also French-inspired (see, I told you this would be a themed post. πŸ™‚ ) I made my very first galette which is similar to a pie but surprisingly much easier! This dessert is typically pastry dough wrapped over a filling made from fruit, sugar, and butter. YUM. If you’re not familiar with the term galette, you may have heard this treat referred to as a rustic tart or (in Italian) a crostata.

I followed this recipe from my friend Danielle’s blog. She even included photos, making it super easy to follow! I was surprised by how quickly the entire dessert came together. It made the kitchen smell amazing and looked so pretty when I pulled it out of the oven!

I served it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert and then had it the following day for breakfast with a little whipped cream. πŸ™‚ I look forward to trying this in the summertime with fresh peaches or strawberries!

That is all for today! Have you ever been to Paris or visited the Disneyland Paris Resort before? Nicolas has been a handful of times, but I’d love to hear any suggestions you may have! Have a lovely day. πŸ™‚

Madison

This recipe looks delicious! Paris is always a good idea indeed <3 IΒ΄ve been years ago and would love to go back! As to the Disney park – I've been to the one in Orlando, but have never visited this one in Paris! Good luck with your trip!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Ah! So exciting! My only Paris tips are second hand from my brother who studied abroad in France. The Lourve is not open on Tuesday. Restaurants are only open at meal times. (And dinner starts at like 7:30 or 8:00) And the French aren’t rude, they just aren’t ones to nod and smile on a sidewalk. πŸ™‚ Enjoy! I can’t wait to live vicariously through your trip, especially Disneyland Paris.

And I am capable of spelling Louvre. Honest.

Awe, thanks Madeline! I will keep those things in mind, and I will be sure to take 2935893 photos in Disneyland. Hehe πŸ™‚

Disneyland Paris is a lot smaller than Orlando but still as thrilling. Paris is a beautiful city, hope you have an amazing time.

Oh my goodness!!! You’ll have to forgive me for gushing over this post, but Paris is my favorite city! We went there on our honeymoon, and it still has my heart. I can’t wait to hear of your adventures and see your pictures.

Funny, because I’ve been reading as series of books called “Madame Chic”. They are based on an exchange students experience living there and how she has applied French culture to her every day life. You may enjoy them! πŸ˜‰
