Where to Get a French Blow-Dry in Paris // Medley Coiffure

Hello, everyone! I am back from Paris. Nicolas and I had the most wonderful trip! I wanted to kick off my Paris posts with this amazing collaboration featuring Medley Hair Salon.

Medley Coiffure is a company with three hair salons in Paris. I was invited to their Rive Droite location in the Marais district. The salon entrance from the street leads you through a charming, little courtyard and to the front door of Medley.

Upon entering, I was greeted by my stylist Elodie. She, along with the entire staff, was so welcoming! The salon offers complimentary coffee and tea and has a comfortable sitting area. I was shown to my chair, and had a moment to take in the entire salon. It is beautiful!

This spacious building was once a candy factory. How cool is that? The atmosphere is chic and modern but still warm and cozy - the best combination.

I have read many great things online about a French brushing (otherwise known as a blow-dry or blowout in English.) I was really excited to see what it was all about! Elodie carefully studied my hair and told me her styling ideas. I could tell immediately that she is so knowledgeable when it comes to styling and haircare! We decided to go for a straight and sleek look. She then lead me downstairs to the wash station and began shampooing my hair. The salon takes pride in using high-end products that are good for your hair.

Elodie washed my hair twice! For the first wash she used a natural (yay!) shampoo for damaged hair from NouNou. She then followed up with a color- and shine-enhancing shampoo containing shea butter and vitamins to further nourish and strengthen the hair. Finally she applied the NouNou conditioner and massaged my strands and scalp. It was all so luxurious and relaxing!

After washing, Elodie used a thickening mousse from Sebastian on my roots and a tiny bit of the System Professional Elixir Oil on the rest of my hair. She really took the time to work the product through my strands so that my hair was prepped for the blow-dry.

After blowdrying, Elodie used a straightener to enhance the shine. At Medley they use the best styling tools and brushes available. I was so excited to see Elodie using GHD, as they are one of my favorite brands, and I recently purchased a straightener and travel hairdryer from them! After straightening, Elodie really took the time to style my hair. She switched up my part, played around with different positions, and finished it all off with a bit of hairspray. She also gave me so many tips that I will be sharing later in a future post. 🙂

I am so pleased with my experience at Medley. It was honestly such a memorable morning! From the atmosphere to the staff to the products - everything was great. I felt so comfortable and welcomed and also learned so much.

Here is my before and after. I have tried countless products, techniques, and even keratin treatments, but my hair never felt as weightless and smooth as it did this day! It also lasted me the rest of my Paris trip without any frizz, waves, or kinks. (If you have curly hair like me, you'll know that is close to impossible.) There is something so magical about getting your hair done at the salon. My hair never looks the same when I try to recreate it at home (but that is why they do what they do. 🙂 )

Thank you so much to Medley Rive Driote Salon for having me! It was such a treat. Next time you are in Paris, be sure to visit them. I was so excited to learn that they provide countless of other services such as a facial makeover, wardrobe makeover, and individual makeup classes (literally my dream job!) Also feel free  to check out my incredibly talented stylist Elodie on her personal website here. 🙂 Have a great weekend! xx

Your hair looks so beautiful both before and after! I actually almost ordered that exact shampoo yesterday but ended up ordering another one from the same brand instead. I can’t wait for it to get here and I hope that it will make my hair look as beautiful as yours!

Your hair is gorgeous Madison! I’m off to Paris in July, and I am so tempted to hunt down this place. I’ve never actually gone to a salon for a blow-dry, as I normally get it complimentary when I get my haircut. But, this makes me feel like I’m missing out! Hope you had a lovely time in Paris!

Hi, Jenny! Honestly, I highly recommend this salon and going in for a blow-dry. Not sure how long you’re staying in Paris, but since I got this done while I was there, I didn’t need to pack any shampoo, conditioner, or styling products. It lasted me 3 days. 🙂 And I had extra space for the goodies I picked up at the pharmacy! Thank you xx

Another great post! I just had my hair done yesterday and I have the same thought, “How’s come I can’t recreate it?” She told me to quite using the curling wand and just let it be. I have always had “big hair”. I might just try her suggestion, keep it au natural. I do love the new cut. (same person I have been going too for years and she said, “Linda, can we just try something different?”) —btw, which I meant to tell your mom, its looks similar to your moms, only my hair is brown, smiles.
