I Found Italy in Copenhagen! // Illum Rooftop

Summer weather has finally arrived in Copenhagen, and I am loving it! I think this city is truly the best place in the entire world when the sun is shining (even though it doesn’t occur that often. 😉 ) Last week Nicolas and I went for a long walk through the city. No summertime walk is ever complete for me without a fresh mint lemonade from Lagekagehuset. It is my favorite summer treat, and I wait for it all year!

In the midst of our walk, we realized that we were extremely hungry. We had always wanted to try eating on Illum’s rooftop, and being that the weather was fantastic, this seemed like the perfect opportunity! Illum is one of the biggest high-end department stores here in Denmark. On their top floor in Copenhagen they have several restaurants and outdoor seating on a beautiful terrace.

Nicolas and I decided to try out Rossopomodoro – a Neapolitan kitchen and pizzeria. We went on a Tuesday and realized that they have a 2-for-1 evening cocktail special Monday through Wednesday! There was so many to chose from, but we both ended up ordering a drink with lemon ice cream and mint (even though I had just had a lemonade!) It was super yummy.

 

We split a margherita pizza, and I must say, it was the closest thing to Italian pizza that I’ve tried (without being in Italy. 🙂 ) Nicolas and I both agreed that it was one of the best pizzas we’ve had in Copenhagen. I later found out that Rossopomodoro was started in Naples, and they use authentic Italian ingredients! It was so lovely to relax and eat with a beautiful view of Copenhagen. Definitely hyggeligt. 🙂
