The ONE Thing To Do Over Christmas Break // 12 Days of Christmas Day 11

The most WONDERFUL time of the year is finally here. As you all gather together with your family and friends and prepare to celebrate Christmas, I’d love to share one thing everyone should be certain to do!

Nothing.

I’m serious.

Don’t do a single thing! Take one day out of your busy schedule and spend it doing absolutely nothing besides snuggling on the couch in your coziest pajamas. Grab a book. Unplug. Don’t use your phone. Spend time with your family members, and just hang out!

Make some hot cocoa. Play board games with your little brothers and sisters. Watch your favorite Christmas movie. Bake cookies. Take a nap (my personal favorite. 😉 )

The holidays are a wonderful time, but they can also be so busy. It is easy to get caught up in buying presents, rushing from store to store, going to party after party, and not having any time to reflect on what Christmas is really about. Being so busy can really take a toll on your mental health as well. It is so important to rest and recharge. Look back on this past year, and prepare for the coming one. Make memories with those you hold close to your heart. Looking back at past Christmases, what I remember most is the little moments that were spent with my family playing games, eating cookies, and just enjoying each other’s company. That is all that matters!

We are preparing for Christmas tonight in Nicolas’s house. All the food is bought. Nicolas, his brother, his sister, and I each received a new pair of pajamas to wear over Christmas break (something my mom always does, too. 🙂 ) I am so excited to celebrate with Nicolas’s family and experience all of their special traditions!

I also received a lovely little package in the mail from a girl named Anneli. She owns the company Maie Slippers which was founded in honor of her mother who made her bunny slippers when she was a child. I am so thrilled to have my very own pair and plan on wearing them all through Christmas break! Each pair of slippers is handmade here in Denmark. They are sooo incredibly soft. I never want to take them off! If you are interested in getting some for yourself, be sure to check out her website here. 🙂 She ships internationally, too!

That is all for today! I hope you enjoyed this post and were maybe inspired to relax and make some memories with your family and friends in the coming week. Have a lovely evening!

Madison

Today’s candle is Alpine Martini. How festive! Today’s tea is Breathe! I actually had a cup this morning, as I was feeling a little stuffed up. It really helps! Don’t forget to check out my mom’s blog and her friend Danielle’s to see what they are up to during Day 11!

Amen to all this! We definitely need to recharge after the craziest of the season. I’m looking forward to the week between Christmas and New Years to get in some well needed rest and relaxation. And those slippers are simply adorable! ♥
