Today I am sharing one of my favorite places to go during the holiday season – Hotel Chocolat. If you are a frequent reader, you might remember a previous post where I attended a makeup and chocolate event here. It was lovely, and I fell in love with their chocolate and cafe! Hotel Chocolat has locations in Copenhagen as well as all over the U.K. If you are lucky enough to live near one, I highly recommend checking it out!
I often visit Hotel Chocolat on Strøget, the big shopping street here in Copenhagen. It also happens to be where Nicolas works, so I have plenty of excuses to drop in. 🙂 Upon entering, you’re greeted by a beautiful Christmas tree along with lots of Christmas chocolate and gift sets!
I ordered a Winter Spice Hot Chocolat topped with cocoa whip, as it is one of the most decadent and delicious item on their cafe menu! Winter Spice is a limited edition flavor with cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg blended with caramel milk chocolate. It was by far my favorite hot chocolate I have tried! It is served with little chocolate snowflakes on top.
You can even purchase this hot chocolate and many other flavors at the store and try making it yourself! Nicolas brought some along to the U.S. when we went home for Thanksgiving, and my family LOVED it. Hotel Chocolat’s hot chocolate is really special because it is actual chocolate shavings that you melt into warmed milk on the stove (no powdered chocolate here. 😉 ) It is so cozy and fun to make!
After I enjoyed my hot chocolate, I decided to walk around the boutique and check out all of the holiday chocolate sets. Hotel Chocolat makes giving a box of chocolates as a gift so much more personal and fun. They have dozens of chocolates to choose from in various shapes and sizes. Not to mention each one is packaged beautifully!
Some new items have entered the store just in time for Christmas, and of course they all involve chocolate! There is now a big selection of alcohol curated to pair perfectly with chocolate, and some products are even infused with cocoa! I am really looking forward to trying the champagne as well as maybe the cocoa beer.
However, I am MOST excited about Hotel Chocolat’s line of beauty and self-care products! I tested the body lotion and body butter and think they both smell heavenly. The collection also includes body wash, body scrub, hand cream, and several flavors of lip balm! I am definitely wishing for some of these products for Christmas! *hint hint to Santa* 😉
If you live near a Hotel Chocolat, I hope I gave you some nice holiday gift ideas or maybe inspired you to go treat yourself to a cup of hot cocoa! 😉 Have a great day!
Madison
Today’s tea made me SO happy! It is White as Snow. This was the very first tea in the Advent calendar, and I was so excited to receive it again. It tastes like warm cinnamon apples – so lovely! Today’s candle is All is Bright – a blend of sparkling citrus and warm musk. It is something different, and I really am enjoying it. If you missed yesterday’s post all about Christmas markets, you can catch up here. Also, don’t forget to check out my mom’s blog and her friend Danielle’s blog, because they are both participating in the 12 Days of Christmas, too!
