Copenhagen Cherry Blossoms

Today was a perfect Sunday! The weather was amazing so Nicolas and I decided to take a walk and have a picnic at one of my favorite spots in Copenhagen. There is a little place called Langelinie Park near the Little Mermaid statue. It is so charming with its cozy benches and beautiful greenery. The cherry trees are currently blossoming in gorgeous shades of pink! I (unintentionally) wore Continue Reading

My Danish Christmas Favorites

Copenhagen is one of the coziest cities ever so you can imagine just how perfect it is at Christmastime. I was lucky enough to be able to experience some Danish Christmas traditions and see Copenhagen beautifully decorated for the holiday season before coming home for Christmas. I made a list of the traditions, places, and treats I love the most. 🙂

1. Christmas Markets

I am pretty sure Nicolas and I visited a total of FIVE Christmas markets in Copenhagen. They are everywhere, and I cannot begin to describe how festive and unique each and every one was. There were so many vendors, yummy treats, decorations, and music. SO cozy.

Decking the Halls

Decorating is one of my very favorite things to do – especially for Christmas. I love making everything festive and cozy. With the help of both our sweet moms and a few shopping trips to some cute stores in Copenhagen, Nicolas and I decorated his apartment for Christmas. I love all the cute little elves, red and gold accents, and vintage-looking pieces. 🙂 I was so, so happy with how it turned out!

Halloween at Tivoli

I absolutely love Halloween. I am pretty sure it stems from my mom’s obsession with this holiday. She always goes all out with decorating the house, burning Yankee spiced pumpkin candles, and making sure we always watch an absurd amount of Halloween movies. So when Nicolas proposed we go to Tivoli’s Halloween celebration, it was an obvious YES.

Tivoli, the world’s second oldest amusement park, is one of my absolute favorite places in Copenhagen. (Yes, Copenhagen is also home to the world’s oldest amusement park, too, if you remember one of my previous posts.) Tivoli’s atmosphere reminds me a little of Disney World’s but on a much cozier, intimate level. It is magical and charming, and unlike most theme parks, it appeals to those of all ages. The amusements take up only a small portion of the park. There are flower gardens, a theater, band stands, and countless cafes and restaurants, but I will revisit all that in another post. 🙂

I knew based on my past visit to Tivoli last summer that the Halloween festivities here would be nothing short of wonderful. I was right. Upon entering the park, I literally felt like I was in Halloweentown (only the best Disney Channel original movie ever). There was thousands of festive lights and jack-o-lanterns along with spooky music and treats everywhere you looked!

Brunch and Stuff

Hey, all! Life has been so crazy, hence the reason why it has been a little over a week since I last uploaded. I have been very busy studying at a makeup and hair artist academy here in Copenhagen. I LOVE IT!!! I am so happy to go to school and play with makeup all day. It is a dream come true! Anyways, on with todays post.

The three things that make me the happiest are food, pajamas, and lazy days. And Nicolas happens to know that. So on a beautiful Saturday morning he surprised me by bringing me brunch in bed. Obviously I got out of bed to grab my camera and take some photos (because it was too pretty not to photograph), but it was nothing short of delicious. He even made me coffee in my favorite Audrey mug. 🙂

The World’s Oldest Amusement Park

Earlier this week, Nicolas and I visited Bakken – The world’s oldest amusement park! It is crazy for me to think that this whimsical place opened its doors hundreds of years ago in 1583 and is still loved and visited by so many to this day.

Entering Bakken is essentially like entering a fairytale. The park is hidden in the center of one of Denmark’s beautiful forests. Horse-drawn carriages circle the area transporting visitors. You are immediately greeted with the sounds of children enjoying the rides and the aroma of some of Denmark’s most traditional food.

My personal favorite food (and one of the main reasons we visited Bakken this day) is the beef sandwich. I know it sounds pretty average, but believe me, it is NOT!
