Minimalistic makeup is my thing. I love spending 10-15 minutes in the morning (or afternoon if I’m lazy) putting on a little CC cream, concealer, blush, highlighter, and mascara. It is a routine I’ve been doing for years, and although I switch up the products every now and then, the ritual stays the same. I LOVE a good routine.
However, sometimes I completely forget to play with my makeup. It sounds so silly, but I rarely think to do it! I was so happy to sit down, film this video, and have fun creating this retro look. I was very much inspired by no other than Audrey Hepburn (the loveliest woman ever.)

I wanted the look to be a bit more modern and soft. I used neutral brown and pink tones on the eyes instead of the traditional black and white cut-crease that 1960’s makeup is famously known for. I also opted for a glossy lip instead of a matte formula. I should add that many of the products I used were all-natural!

I just finished watching a show set in the 1960s and their make-up and fashion is very nice to look at! Loving this make-up tutorial. I think this look looks really good on you!
A look that really suits you. Sadly at my age it would look very old fashioned rather than retro.
Loved the tutorial and you look absolutelu gorgeous! The look is perfect for you xx I would love to see some 80’s crazy makeup!

Madison, I love this look on you!!!!
Stunning!!!
And I was thinking like Heidi…80’s makeup!!!!
WOW!! Anything you do, Madison, you look great…I’m afraid, if I try anything new, it just won’t work…although, I did receive a compliment last week from a fellow student who said, “I had no idea you were 50! You look like one of us!.” I’ll take it, LOLOL.
Au natural/natural works at any age, although, some of us have to work a little harder, lol. BTW, do they have elf makeup there? (that’s the name; E-L-F)My husband bought some makeup for me for Christmas and I love it. I’m a makeup hog, unfort. lol
Awe, thank you so so much, Linda! Natural makeup is my go-to and what I feel most comfortable in! You are so right – it works for everyone. 🙂 And yes, I’ve tried several products from ELF before! I LOVE their Disney collaboration sets! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
p.s. Love, love the video you did…I had no idea one could mimic eyelashes, I love this idea, instead of using liner! smiles
