DIY Princess Jasmine Halloween Costume // Hair, Makeup, & Outfit

I am very excited about today’s post! It has taken some time, but I am so happy with how it all came together. My goal was to create an easy Princess Jasmine Halloween look that the everyday woman could recreate herself at home using minimal products and simple techniques. Follow along to see the step-by-step process of transforming my model (aka my beautiful sister) into Princess Jasmine!

Makeup

Start with a clean, moisturized face. Apply your favorite foundation or BB cream to even out your complexion and give yourself a fresh canvas to work with. On Peyton, I used MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation because it is lightweight and gives the skin a subtle glow. Next, apply some concealer on any blemishes and imperfections. You can additionally apply the concealer to the inner corner of the eye and under the eyes to brighten. I love using It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye because it is full coverage and looks great in photos. If you have oily skin, feel free to set the face with powder.

Now onto the fun part! Princess Jasmine has a beautiful, bronzed complexion and an angular face shape. To mimic her look, use a bronzer around the perimeter of the face in the shape of a backwards 3. I highly recommend using a cream bronzer such as Beauty For Real Bronze + Glo because it blends beautifully into the skin and doesn’t look orange or ashy on even the fairest complexions. Jasmine has gorgeous brows, so be sure to fill yours in with a pencil or powder. Because this is a costume look, feel free to go a bit bolder or darker than you normally would! On Peyton, I used Full Brow Eyebrow Powder in Dark on an angled brush to fill in any gaps and darken her brows. If you’ve ever looked closely at Princess Jasmine’s eyes, you will notice that she actually has a pretty neutral look. Her eyeliner is the main focus and gives that cat-eye effect. To begin, apply a brown, shimmery shade all over the lid. To deepen the look and encourage that cat-eye shape, apply a darker brown into the crease in a ‘v’ shape. Blend the colors together with a fluffy brush to ensure there are no harsh lines. I used the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eye Shadow Palette By Violette because the warm tones are perfect for this look. This palette was actually designed by my very favorite makeup artist, and it is something I treasure and use all the time. Use a black liner and trace along the upper lash line, flicking it out on the ends to create a wing. Follow the ‘v’ shape you’ve already created with the shadows. I used Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. Clean up any mistakes with some makeup remover on a Q-tip. 🙂 Finish off the eyes with several coats of your favorite mascara to ensure your lashes are long and black. For the lips, choose a shade that is close to your natural lip color. My go-to is always Beauty For Real Lip Cream + Color because it is easy to apply and hydrates the lips. Peyton’s perfect shade is Always There which is a universal color that works on almost any woman. No princess look is complete without rosy cheeks! Use your favorite blush on the apples of cheeks and blend upwards towards your temples. TA-DA! You’re done with the makeup!

The hair is actually very simple! This style is best for those with long hair, but if you medium-length hair or extensions, I’m pretty confident that you could make it work. 🙂 To begin, brush your hair and part it down the middle. Peyton had some beautiful second-day waves going on, and that definitely helped give the style more bounce and volume. Using a clear elastic, pull the hair into a loose ponytail at the nape of the neck. Make a hole in the center of the ponytail above the elastic (shown below.) Loop the length of the ponytail through the hole and pull tightly to secure. Wrap another clear elastic further down the ponytail. This really depends on how long your hair is. If it as long or longer than Peyton’s, you can repeat this process several times. Once all of the elastics are in place, gently pull the hair apart to give the ponytail a fuller look. When you’re done, it should look similar to the second photo below. 🙂

Now for the outfit . . . Peyton is wearing this beautiful two-piece gown with gold, turquoise, and green beading. A gold headband, necklace, and statement earrings complete the look! It is crazy what accessories can do. This entire outfit is actually available in the boutique I work at! The second I saw this dress I was reminded of Princess Jasmine. If you’re in the area and are interested in purchasing this gown, feel free to email me here! Alternatively, any turquoise dress could work! Amazon also has some great gold accessories.

Which Disney Princess would you dress up as for Halloween? Let me know in the comments below! If you recreate this look, I’d love to see!!! Feel free to send me photos on Instagram or email me!  Have an amazing day!

xx, Madison

I just adore this! When I was little my mom dressed me up as Jasmine but I didn’t have the fun make up since I was about 5.

If I were to dress up like a Disney Princess now I’d have to go with Belle.
