The Christmas Tree // 12 Days of Christmas Day 5

Happy Sunday! I had an amazing day today with Nicolas and his family and thought I would share it with you all for Day 5 of my 12 Days of Christmas. We went to a Christmas tree farm and cut down a Christmas tree! This is something I had never done before as my family always has an artificial tree. This is mostly because we normally put the tree up mid-November and leave it up until mid-January! However, it is a very special tradition for Nicolas’s family, and I now know why!

We drove around half an hour to a cozy little Christmas tree farm and immediately started searching for the perfect one. I was overjoyed that it snowed last night, dusting each and every tree with a light blanket of snow. It looked so pretty!

This is Nicolas’s younger sister Julia (as well as one of my very best friends.) We always have so much fun together!

Also, YES, I did wear Christmas tree leggings for the occasion. They were a little out of my comfort zone, but I am all for anything that makes me feel more festive!

Finally we found the perfect tree, and Nicolas and his dad chopped it down. Are they not the cutest family? (Not pictured is Nicolas’s younger brother who couldn’t make it today.)

After we picked out our tree, we headed inside for some warm gløgg and admired all the decorations and ornaments for sale. Danish Christmas decorations are really something special. I just love how unique, minimalistic, yet traditional they look.

Nicolas bought me this beautiful crystal heart ornament to commemorate chopping down our first Christmas tree together. I will treasure it forever. 🙂

Also sharing this because it was on my Pinterest feed today and made me smile. 🙂

I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday! Also, I’d love to hear if you celebrate Christmas with a real or artificial tree! Let me know in the comments below. 🙂

Today’s candle was Bubbly Pomegranate, and I’m currently burning it as I write this. It smells like red berries and clove. I am really enjoying it! Today’s tea was Easy Green – green tea with lemongrass and grapefruit. I’ll be drinking this tomorrow morning, as it is after midnight now, and I have no need for caffeine! Also, don’t forget to check out my mom’s blog as well as her friend Danielle’s for their 12 Days of Christmas posts!

I’m so glad you shared your lovely time to find your Christmas tree! How lovely it was to have snow as you had your special day. I love the heart ornament your Nicolas gifted you! Also you look adorable in your festive leggings!
We used to have a real tree until one year all the needles fell to the floor as we like to have our tree up for a while. I do miss the wonderful fragrance that only a real tree has. I do try to burn a Yankee Balsam Fir candle to try and get that scent. Enjoy the special week ahead. ♥

Sounds amazing and wonderful that you have been so warmly welcomed into the family. Like your on family we have artificial trees but opt for real wreaths on the outside doors.
